McLennan Municipal Library to undergo renovation thanks to federal support
February 15, 2022 - McLennan, Alberta.
A federal investment of $13,500 by the Government of Canada will help support the renovation of the McLennan Municipal Library.
Federal funding for this project is being provided through the Canada Community Revitalization Fund, which is administered in Alberta by Prairies Economic Development Canada.
The McLennan Municipal Library provides residents with a wide variety of library resources, programming and free access to the Internet. The renovations will help improve accessibility and enhance library space—increasing the ability of all community members to benefit from library resources while improving the overall experience of visitors.
The project includes the installment of automatic door openers for the Town of McLennan Office front doors and the Library door, as well as a repainting of the entire library. While 25 per cent of the costs will come from the McLennan Municipal Library's budget, the remaining costs will be funded through the Canada Community Revitalization Fund.
The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of June 2022.
